This week our oil of the week is Helichrysum. We have two varieties and both are on sale. Helichrysum Angustifolium and Helichrysum Italicum.
True Helichrysum Italicum oil, also known as Immortelle, is unsurpassed in its ability to rejuvenate the look of healthy, unblemished skin. This warm, herbal, woodsy scent that is sweet essential oil, is jam packed with therapeutic properties that are effective on all types of skin blemishes. Use it to reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles, or other skin blemishes on the face or body. Helichrysum Italicum is said to support the body through post-illness fatigue and convalescence, mainly through boosting normal immune function. Helichrysum Italicum oil is believed to soothe away deep emotional feelings and diffuse anger and destructive feelings.
Add Helichrysum Italicum to Rosehip Seed Carrier Oil and apply topically to healed scars to help restore the appearance of smooth, unblemished skin. Add a few drops of Helichrysum Italicum to your Diffuser, personal inhaler, or diffuser necklace to help soothe away deep emotional feelings and diffuse anger and destructive feelings leaving you uplifted and ready to move forward.
We use it mainly for skin wounds, which it is very helpful for. This weekend though, I had some swollen lymph nodes in my neck after battling weeks of terrible allergies. I performed a massage on the swollen lymph nodes (and other nodes around my ears and back of neck) with lavender roll-on and a drop of helichrysum italicum . Very beneficial in helping the swollen lymph nodes to drain! I woke up the next morning with 95% of the swelling gone, no soreness, and feeling much better. I recommend having this in your essential oil arsenal.
There are many different full-body benefits due to Helichrysum’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Helichrysum essential oil contains special properties that make it an antioxidant, an antibacterial, an antifungal and an anti-inflammatory! As such, it can be used in dozens of different ways to boost health and ward off disease. Some of its most popular uses are for treating wounds, infections, digestive problems, supporting the nervous system and heart health, and healing respiratory conditions.
To use helichrysum essential oil for soothing and healing the skin, combine with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil and rub the mixture onto the face to prevent hives, redness, blemishes, rashes and shaving irritation. If you have a rash or poison ivy, applying helichrysum mixed with lavender oil can help cool and soothe any itching.
Helichrysum can help hydrate burnt skin and relieve the pain following sunburns. It can also decrease signs of aging on the skin and block UV-light damage that can contribute to the formation of skin cancer.
The hypotensive action of helichrysum improves the condition of blood vessels by lowering inflammation, increasing smooth muscle function and lowering high blood pressure. Some people have observed cardiovascular effects of using helichrysum oil in the management of high blood pressure and the protection of their heart health.
Essential oils of frankincense and helichrysum support the neurological system and can help ward off or alleviate the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Rub two drops of each oil on the body three times a day for three weeks, then take one week off and repeat that cycle. Also, basil and cypress oils can improve circulation and muscle tone and can help reduce MS symptoms, so consider combining these oils together for maximum results.
As always Helichrysum will be 50% off this week (March 12 – March 18). We also have free shipping on all orders over $50. I hope you take advantage of this sale and share this deal with your friends as well as liking our page on Facebook. www.facebook.com/GardenEssenceOils.
